Birthday Shenanigans

June 5, 2008 by Cindy Leave a Comment

As you may or may not know, I turned the big 2-7 just a week ago, oh my! I had been dreading the even for some time, since 27 is a number that starts to sound seriously OLD… as in you’re no kid anymore, time to grow up and be an adult and what not. I tried not to make to big of plans, maybe just checking MySpace/Facebook for comments and some drinks out with friends. Little did I know that it’d turn out to be one of my best birthdays ever 😀 The day was a mix of some careful planning and genuine surprises that all left me feeling so loved by my Texas friends, I couldn’t even begin to thank them enough.

Awesome Birthday card... how did they find this one!?

I got a new digital camera from my family, just what I wanted! The current digital camera I had was a gift on my 21st birthday, and thus was the size of a BRICK. I barely had time to play with the settings/pack my things before my family and I were off to a steak lunch and Saltgrass. Yum.
Suprize!
I checked into my hotel room that afternoon, & when I opened the door to my room, there were flowers, balloons, cupcakes, and a gift bag full of Diet Coke and Doritos! I was so surprised I actually teard up a little 🙂 SOMEHOW Julie and Becca snuck into my room before I go there, how sweet!
My friends Cathie and Brittani hung out with me all afternoon; we played some yateeze, drank Shiner, made a brief run to Best Buy for a camera charger, & Cathie tried to teach us Blackjack strategy… oh my. Before we knew it, it was after 10 and we headed over to Goose Acre/Bakerstreet for some more drinking and merriment with our co-workers just getting off 2nd shift. I didnt even have keys with me at any point during the evening, and I’m very thankful to all my friends who came out for my B-Day, made sure I had a great time and that I got back to my room safe and sound :oD

My birthday as a whole made me feel just so loved and appreciated by the friends I’ve made at all phases of my life, and I didn’t ever stop to over-think about the actual “number” I was turning. I couldn’t have hoped for anything more!
