Apparently, the town where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed is not too awful far from where I live.
Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site is a place like Heritage Hill (in SoCal) or Sutter’s Fort (in Sacramento) … historical buildings and actors recreating a time when Texas declared independence from Mexico (in 1836… it took another 9 years to become a state).
Now go eat some BBQ and drink a Pint of Shiner.
