Penguin Party Quilt! by Elizabeth Hartman
I’ve decided on my OMG (One Monthly Goal) for September: Complete remaining Penguin head units (10). This means the faces plus the snowballs and background.
I meant to finish all of the Penguin Faces last month so finishing the Blocks would be easy.
But I spent a whole day of sewing snowballing all of the eye units incorrectly. Ugh.
Once I got my sewing mo-jo back, I really just wanted to complete 1 block. So I assembled 10 Heads, enough so I could reach my August OMG. I’m proud to say I did reach my goal of 8 penguin blocks!
10 more faces may not seem like much. But this month is going to be a lot busier at work/I’m going to have less free time :/
I do have the component set to go, but each face does take a lot of steps. Time to start the chain piecing extravaganza!
Thing always seem less daunting to me when I break it down into parts…
Here is my September To-Do List
- Trim 10 beaks
- Trim 20 Eyes
- Snowball 20 eyes (40 snowballs)
- Attach Eyes to Beaks (10 units)
- Complete heads – Attach sides and forehead (10 units)
- Snowball Heads (20 Snowballs)
- Attach side/top background pieces
THEN it should be smooth sailing to get the penguin blocks complete!
Ok, I’m sure I put together a whole Penguin or 2 along the way… They’re just too cute!
And I need to finish 1 block to qualify for prizes for the #IcyPolesSAL 😉
Wish me Luck!
Patty
